KOTRA Hanoi plays a pivotal role in Korean companies’s entry into the Vietnamese market and in economic cooperation between the two countries • The year 2025 marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Vietnam. Since the establishment of these relations, the two countries have maintained close cooperation in various fields, including economy, culture, and society. In particular, the trade volume in the economic sector has significantly increased, recording $80.7 billion in 2021, a 164-fold increase compared to 1992. Additionally, the Republic of Korea has become Vietnam’s largest investor, with a cumulative investment amounting to $51.72 billion by June 2024. Based on these achievements, the two countries are strengthening cooperation with the goal of achieving a trade volume of 100 billion dollars in 2023 and 150 billion dollars by 2030. Along with this, the local role of national institutions has become very important, and they are actively supporting the local activities of Korean companies in Vietnam. Among them, KOTRA Hanoi is an overseas trade center of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency(KOTRA) located in Hanoi, Vietnam, supporting the entry of Korean companies into Vietnam and promoting trade and investment between the two countries. It also provides various support services for Korean companies entering the Vietnamese market and plays a pivotal role in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
